About the photographer:Dave Van Den Bossche was born and raised on a small dairy farm outside of the city of Winnipeg. He started taking pictures at a very young age when he found his parents camera and decided to experiment with it. Most of his early photos were photos of his family on vacation or working or helping out on the farm. Whenever a photo needed to be taken, he was always the one to volunteer to be behind the camera. To him at this young age, his parents could see this was more than a hobby to him.
In middle school, Dave became the photographer for his school, all the way through middle school. Any event there was at all from sports, to special events, to live music. Around this time Dave began to take a huge interest in music in particular. He even picked up an electric guitar that he plays(quite well) to this day. He began to pour over music periodicals and loved all the imagery that went with rock music. He wondered whether there were photographers who were hired to do this, or if this was only an assignment rarely done by a photographer.
When he discovered there are photographers that specialize in rock and roll so to speak, he decided that was what he wanted to do. After graduating high school, Dave decided to move to the big city of Winnipeg to get his career afloat. He made the big move and began shooting shows around the city almost immediately, his work was seen in local magazines and newspapers and soon the bigger national and international magazines came calling, the rest as they say is history.
